Gantry systems are standard equipment in a wide range of situations. The development of the rotating gantry has made them even more valuable. Here is an overview of the five key features of the SHEARFORCE patented rotating gantry and the benefits these features deliver.
Maximum Safe Working Load of 3000 kg
Both the steel and the aluminium SHEARFORCE gantries have a maximum safe working load of 3000 kgs. (For completeness, the exact safe working load is determined when you choose your beam size at the purchase point).
This hefty lifting capacity means that SHEARFORCE lifting gantries can be used for loads that are both heavy and bulky. In other words, they can handle the sort of lifting tasks that would otherwise require significant human labour.
Rotating Head and Swivel Base
The unique selling point of SHEARFORCE lifting gantry systems is that the heads on both sides of the gantry can be rotated by approximately 35°. This enables both of the bases to swivel independently of the other.
In other words, the SHEARFORCE rotating gantry makes it possible to position the base of each side of the gantry in the best position for that side. It therefore, with the introduction of the stabilisers ensures that both sides of the gantry are stabilised regardless of any differences in the floor space.
For example, if there are obstacles on the floor that cannot be removed, each side of the gantry can be positioned around them.
In-Built Wheels
Because the SHEARFORCE rotating gantry comes with in-built wheels, it’s simple to move, even when fully assembled. Due to the rotational aspect it enables the gantry to be moved through doorways, whereas a conventional A-frame gantry would need to be disassembled.
Compact, Lightweight and Modular
It’s unlikely that every gantry is going to be in use all of the time. That being so, the gantries have been designed to be simple to store, transport, assemble, disassemble and maintain.
Firstly, when fully disassembled, SHEARFORCE gantries are highly compact. The steel gantries are supplied in robust PVC storage bags as standard, this makes them ideal to store in vehicles. The bag for the steel gantry also has wheels for easier transport. Alternatively, the gantries can be provided in a bespoke wooden box designed for forklift tangs.
Secondly, both gantries are very lightweight relative to their size and the material used. This means that both types of gantry can be easily handled by two people.
Thirdly, both gantries have a modular construction. The main benefit of this is that it makes them easy to assemble and disassemble quickly. In addition to facilitating quick deployment, this feature also makes the gantries simple to maintain. An extra benefit of their modular construction is that it means parts can be swapped out easily.
